Unity in diversity. From a Tagalog who thinks clearly. Hail to Ismaél Arés Musñgi-Andrés.

THERE ARE MANY enlightened Tagalogs who understand the language and culture situation of a diverse country like the Philippines.

There are many who refuse the total Mandarinization of this country in the same way that so many oppose the Mandarin-ization of China, the Castellana-ization of Spain, and so many other countries that, in their earlier history, wanted to impose one and only language as a form of control.

We are going the wrong way--and absolutely wrong way--in the imposition of Tagalog as a national language. This Tagalog thing masquerades as P/Filipino.

Ismael, in his FB post, tells of this, in response to the narrow-minded post of a certain professor of De La Salle University, Prof San Juan. San Juan thinks he is the wisest Tagalogista around.
