The 2007 Nakem Conference, to be held in Mariano Marcos State University in Batac, Ilocos Norte, will be held May 24-27, 2007. This was announced by the joint technical committee from the MMSU headed by University President Miriam Pascua and MMSU Board Secretary Alegria Tan Visaya and the technical committee from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, the University of Hawaii-Leeward Community College, and the Nakem Conferences, a non-profit organization, the latter committee staffed by Precy Espiritu, Raymund Liongson, and Aurelo Agcaoili.
The 2007 Nakem will tackle the theme: Panagpanaw ken Panagindeg--Exile and Settling in Ilokano and Amianan History and Culture.
