Conference in Hawaii, A Newsbrief

The 2005 Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities

accepted the paper of Dr. Aurelio S. Agcaoili, "Negotiating Identity, Transacting Nationhood: The Poetic and Literary Practices of Migrant Ilokano Writers of Hawaii" as one of the conference papers to be presented in the conference of scholars and cultural workers all over the world.

The conference, reputed to be one of the biggest gatherings of academics, critics, writers, and advocates of cultures, will be held from January 13 through January 16, 2005 at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Agcaoili will work on the difficult task of interpreting the works of migrant Ilokano writers of Hawaii in the context of their varied and complex experience of binationality, fluid identity, and cultural plurality.
